Trend Alert: Indigo

Indigo
So Indigo is super popular this season. It gives off a cool and relaxed vibe. It looks really nice with earthy browns and tans. It’s like Earth meeting Sky. Indigo is also a great color for decorating your home with rugs and artwork. Look for tops or dresses in this lovely shade of blue. There are a lot of accessories out there too. You can go for a bold make up look with this Indigo eye tutorial by the Beauty Department. Pinterest has some great DIYs for dyeing your own clothes with indigo dyes.

Spring Is Here

Spring Is Here
Spring is such a lovely time of year! The flowers are blooming and the birds are singing! I like to celebrate the coming of such a lovely season by breaking out my Spring wardrobe. This dress is super light and cool. Blue is a very popular color this season too! Neutral oxfords and a straw fedora keep it simple and cool. Add some punch with bright orange lips and sunglasses. I hope you all have a lovely Spring!
XOXOXO Grace

Trend Alert: Orange Lips

Orange Lips
So this season there have been orange toned lips all over magazines and runways. They can be any shade from bright tangerine to muted coral. This is a color that actually looks good with most skin tones. You darker-skinned girls can rock neon and electric shades and you ladies with paler skin can work a nice orange-red tone. It really all depends on how bold and comfortable you are with the color. If you want to work up to it, try a balm like Baby Lips by Maybelline or a sheer gloss. Just try it to put a little punch in your everyday make up routine.

Retro Vibes

Retro Vibes
Retro and vintage style is really popular right now. A bright red skirt paired with a nice striped top keeps it simple and classic. Classic black pumps are always a good idea. You can never go wrong with all black accessories; they keep it easy and simple. Retro style is all about the make up so go with a bold cat eye and some red lips. Thick brows channel an Audrey Hepburn inspired look. Try a beehive-esk hair-do and put a big bow in it.

Style Inspiration: Audrey Hepburn

Style Inspiration
Audrey Hepburn is one of the most well-know actresses of her time. She is known for her amazing performances in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Roman Holiday” in addition to many others. She was also known for her amazing style and class. If you just look at her you can see that she is absolutely gorgeous. She makes walking the dogs look utterly fabulous in a Givenchy ball gown. Her style was elegant and classy. That pink dress as well as the lace one perfectly show her elegant style. She is considered one of the most naturally beautiful women in history. Aside from her acting career and amazing style; she was an admirable person as well. She grew up during WWI and spent her time helping those in need. She was a beautiful ballet dancer, so she used her talents to raise funds for the Dutch war effort. In her later years she devoted her time to UNICEF which is a humanitarian organization that benefits children.

Kate Spade New York

Kate Spade New York
Kate Spade is one of my favorite accessories designer. She puts a colorful spin on classic bags, shoes, and even jewelry. Color, bows, and fun patterns are her signature. She worked for Mademoiselle as head of accessories and realized that there were very few cute and functional handbags on the market. Deciding to take things into her own hands, she began design her own. This is how her company Kate Spade New York was created. The company has grown and now sells handbags, shoes, jewelry, phone accessories, clothes, and perfume. I was able to visit the store in Palm Springs and I loved it! This season, their main design is lemons like these Keds. Recently, Kate Spade New York has paired with Keds¬†and the designs couldn’t be cuter! Her lovely designs can be found at Nordstrom, Nieman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and of course at her own stores.
